Agricultural biodiversity, health and nutrition are vitally connected. Biological variety can provide local solutions to diet-related nutrition and health conditions, yet much of this diversity and traditional knowledge associated with it is disappearing. Biodiversity for Sustainable Development - Pyeongchang, Korea 2014

The 12th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP-12) is now taking place in Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea (started on 6 October and will last until 17 October 2014). The meeting is expected to conduct, among other issues, a mid-term review of the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and its Aichi targets.
