Call for Abstracts: Biodiversity Loss and the Emergence of Infectious Disease

The call for abstracts for the Planet Under Pressure conference in London in March 2012 is now open

In this event members of the ecoHEALTH project will be organising session titled “Biodiversity Loss and the Emergence of Infectious Disease”

The overall theme of the session will be: understanding of the complex relationships between biodiversity changes and emergence – or re-emergence – of infectious diseases.

The provisional plan is to have five oral presentations covering what we know and what we need to know in this area of research, and introduce posters focusing on specific aspects or studies. Thus abstracts of an overview nature are encouraged for ‘oral abstracts’. Abstracts for posters, that may focus on specific aspects or studies, are also very welcome as most presentations will be through poster presentations.
Whilst selection of session contributions from submitted abstracts will primarily be based on their quality, a wide geographic coverage is also an important consideration for the Planet Under Pressure conference.
