3rd Governing Body Meeting of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture






The 3rd Governing Body Meeting of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture will be held in Tunis . The Treaty, which seeks to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits derived from their use, has now been ratified by over 55 countries. The International Treaty website,  provides information about the meeting, including agenda and background papers that will be discussed by the delegates.  There will also be a number of interesting Side Events including one on Crop wild relatives and others on participatory plant breeding and farmers rights.
