The Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research would like to congratulate the PROINPA Foundation on winning two awards in the Innovations in Agricultural Marketing workshop held in La Paz in February 2009. The objectives of the event were to :
a) Present experiences and learning in agricultural sales and marketing,
b) to exchange ideas on marketing and
c) Develop guidelines for building a network of innovation in marketing and distribution.
More than 30 institutions from Bolivia whose work focused on linking farmers to markets gave their presentations. At the end of the event , awards where presented to the three most innovative experiences. Of the three , two had the involvement of PROINPA :
First place: “Organization of producers of using participatory methods to generate new business market of potatoes in Bolivia,” which shows the use of participatory methodologies Market Survey (PMS) and the Production Plan and Costs (PPC) for organizations Cochabamba, by Mr. R. Pablo Mamani The Foundation PROINPA.
Third Place: “Experiences from the Bolivian Andes Platform in exporting chuño” presented by Mr. Raul Esprella Foundation of PROINPA.
These awards are particularly important for the Foundation and to acknowledge the progress that the institution has made over time. On the other hand this is a clear indication that the joint work and interaction between funders, projects, institutions and organizations of producers is the best way to make progress consistent. PROINPA would like to pay their sincere gratitude to Papa Andina, Mapa2, INNOVANDES, Altagro, PIC SDC KURMI, APEP, APROTAC, APRA, APAP and Platform Bolivian Andes.
