Position: Research scientist
Work Address: UMR 5175 – CEFE 1919 route de Mende 34293 Montpellier Cedex5
Personal Website: English and French
Research Activities: My research concerns two subjects: the interactions between societies and their environment, and the local management of agrobiodiversity. I am analysing how both components of the concept of Biodiversity – the cultural and biological diversity – interact, and how they modify the adaptation potential of societies that have to deal with quicker and more global changes. In my past research, I hypothesised that the social organisation found in a village could inform the biological structuration of plants (from landscape to gene level).
Position: Plant breeder
Work Address: AVRDC Box 42 Shanhua Tainan 741
Research Activities: Genetic improvement of tomato for the tropics, including multiple disease resistance, heat tolerance, fruit quality and nutrition; introgression of genes from wild species to improve cultivated tomato

Research Activities: My research focus lies in the field of plant evolutionary genetics. I am interested in the role of evolutionary processes in shaping the genetic diversity of cultivated plants and their wild relatives. Crop diversity is the result of the interactions among humans, plants, and their environments. My research relies thus on a multidisciplinary approach including population genetics, anthropology and ecology.
I am currently working on the evolutionary history of an African cereal, fonio millet (Digitaria sp.). Fonio millet is an underutilized crop with high potential to increase food security and to generate incomes particularly in marginal lands.Country: France
