On the 20th of November a Policy workshop took place in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China to discuss on policy proposals that ensure the conservation of agricultural biodiversity. The workshop was a follow up of the one which took place in August. At the workshop participated representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, UNEP, Bioversity International from HQ, YAAS, YAU, GAAS, KIB, SAAS in addition to farmers’ representative from 10 villages (one male and one female from each village). After the introduction of the workshop, the participants were divided into groups to discuss different policy issues. At the end of the day a final session brought together all the results from previous discussion. A brochurewas distributed to all participants that highlighted the major issues to be discussed (China policy brochure) . A full report of this event will follow soon.
