Activities of the Agrobiodiversity and Climate Change Project
Many of the project’s activities take place on and via the Agrobiodiversity and Climate Change project website and are all aimed at gathering experiences, knowledge and information on different projects in the world, which deal with the strategies in agricultural practices used by rural and indigenous communities who are facing the challenges of climate change.
The website is specifically designed to:
- encourage and invite all who are interested to join us, to discuss and to share their knowledge and experiences with us;
- host online open discussions, some of which will be organized and moderated by an invited moderator;
- gather and share project stories that tell us about coping strategies using agrobiodiversity and which are used by rural and indigenous communities to deal with climate change.
The Agrobiodiversity and Climate Change project team will, in collaboration with the Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research, attend international key meetings to host discussions and side events and to collect even more stories on how rural and indigenous communities deal with climate change by using the local agrobiodiversity.
In the beginning of 2009 a web based and freely accessible compilation of coping strategies around the globe will be made available, based on the information and experiences you shared with us.
