Africa Agriculture Science Week

The 5th Africa Agriculture Science Week and FARA General Assembly, to be held on 19-24 July 2010 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This is a major event of the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and it is held every three years to show progress and identify future programs related to ‘Agriculture innovations in a changing global environment’. This year, there is added value since AU-NEPAD will hold their CAADP Day during the week. This will feature the achievements and lessons learnt from the past few years in the implementation of CAADP, as well as feature countries with promising outlook. The week will also feature the award gala of the Foundation for Democracy in Africa that gives their Medal of Glory Award to prominent African leaders who contributed to the advancement of African development, democracy and good governance.

The week is shaping up to be full of exciting consultations, recognition and planning for the future.
