Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon

The Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA) is a program that combines the efforts of 20 public and private organizations working the the Amazon region encompassing Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the aim of the program is to promote sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity and environmental services of the region. Its projects focus on the likes of reducing environmental degradation through better landscape planning as well as improving community livelihoods by promoting eco-enterprises such as certified sustainable timber production.
